China allegedly holds a tradition (Although I am not sure how true it is now, either) that the current dynasty is only allowed to compile the history of the passing ones. Because of human nature.

It must have had been an impossible task for the historians to compile a fair history textbook shortly after WW II however open the victor (NATO) might be. Hence, the postwar generations all over the world must have been inevitably radicalised against revisionism based on emerging evidence.
